What is a feed and what is it good for ?
A feed is a special type of text document that is used to publish content such as news and blog entries or to inform users about updates of a specific webpage. What is special about feeds is that your users can subscribe to your feed and do no longer need to search actively for new content because that is done by a Feedreader such as Mozilla Thunderbird that informs the user about new content.
As you can see, feeds work quite similar to newsletters but the big difference is that users do not have to give somebody else their Email-address.
